Braaaains…

In the interest of continuing to make this blog a “morning routine” – todays is gonna be a fairly short one (hopefully?!) and I want to share a couple of images that I have on my desktop… cuz I’m funny and weird. Weirdly funny?! ๐Ÿ˜›

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I am a whore for all things Brain. I have a deep desire to know the “why” about everything the brain does, in varying ways with each individual person or even a subset of people. This insatiable fascination started when I began to research what autism was, over 2 decades ago, so I could understand what was happening with my son. It’s been reinforced repeatedly over these many moons by a plethora of people – most especially myself. It has also expanded beyond just the brain and into the entire realm of the body, because of my inexorably declining physical health.

All the same, I’ve come across so many interesting things in my journey.

Less than a year ago, I researched “tiniest brain in the world” and discovered this “mapped” image of a gnat brain – I don’t remember how they mapped it, but there was a whole article and such. I just saved the picture because I found it utterly fascinating (ooooh, pretty!):

Pretty feckin awesome, yeah?!

The other image I wish to share is labeled “BrainSack” – because, let’s face it, it looks like the nutsack of the brain and I find that wildly hilarious. It’s actually the Pituitary Gland – which is in charge of hormone stuffs (including sperm production – oh, the irony). However, MY research on it was focused mostly towards it’s functions concerning responses to stress/trauma (shocking, I know…). Anyway, here it is, in all it’s sack-like glory:

Side Quest: I used to say that I have a “dick” in my brain somewhere, because I sometimes have the humor of 13-year old boy, but… maybe it’s just a nutsack?! Either way, I laugh at fart jokes and other such nonsense.

And I shall leave you with my favorite joke (bc it’s legit the only one simple enough for my brain to keep in storage):

What is the difference between Pink and Purple?!

(I’ll put the answer in the comments lol)
