Madam Barnacle. 😛 Just kidding. This is my current nickname from The Boyfriend, actually. We had watched a YouTube video of a guy describing how to know a woman loves you… he described 2 things: one of them being that she bites – not for real, just does a nom on your arm or otherwise. The other was how it seems like she can’t get close enough to you when you’re snuggling or hugging… like she wants to crawl inside your skin (not literally, haha). And thus, The Boyfriend made the observation that I sometimes stick to him like a barnacle. It was cute and funny, so I ran with it. And thus, Madam Barnacle was born.
And, of course, I could always go with my gamer and blog name: EnchiPants 😛
But in all seriousness, this topic is a thing I’ve considered for quite a long while. And don’t get me wrong, I like my given first and middle names. As for both of my last names, Gravity is how I have my current “legal” last name, and The Plague is who I got my Maiden name from. So both of those can go right in the bin and promptly be set aflame.
So yeah, I’ve spent many years pondering what I would choose, if I were to legally change my name. As such and currently, it would amount to: Melissa Ann Kochis. Now, I did consider taking Ch’Komi as my first name because she was my former wolf-hybrid companion and an integral part of my life and, let’s face it, wolves are heckin awesome. However, I really don’t wish to deal with how frustrating it would be to change that (not just legally, but with everyone in my life). So I would just keep Melissa Ann, my given first and middle names. As for Kochis – this is my maternal Papa’s last name. He passed away when I was 13 and left a giant hole in my heart and life. He was, quite literally, the only man I ever truly looked up to and respected deeply.
