It’s Snowing…

Today, I have three appointments: regular therapy, ObGyn, and Podiatrist.

Thankfully, regular therapy is Telehealth, so I don’t have to do the required driving (13 miles) for that. However… I do have to venture out into this weather for my ObGyn (3.5 miles) and Podiatrist (1.4 miles), so it’s not too bad, but still… I’ll be a little stressed, because The Boyfriend will have to drive me to those. ๐Ÿ˜›

It’s one of those days where I’d rather just curl up on the couch with a hot drink and a blanket, though.

Yesterday’s EMDR was a lot of talking and catching up. We did talk about the Xmas Incident that happened a year ago, where I almost did a Permanent Check-Out… and how I need to be doing some maintenance and self-care, because things like this have a tendency to come back up the closer you get to the anniversary. So that’s our plan for this month’s EMDR sessions.

The Women’s Trauma Group was about Anger. This topic is always difficult for me, because I’ve had to stuff mine since I was 8 or so years old (maths: 35 years). I’ve only ever released it in a healthy way ONE time (with my mom). I plan to do the worksheets that were provided, because they will help me discover the feelings that are below the surface of anger and give me tools on how to let that anger out in healthy ways, rather than stuffing it and letting unjust things go without speaking up.

Most of me doesn’t want to work hard on something that bothers me so much, but I know I need to do it. I won’t heal and grow if I don’t.

    • It can be, depending on how much snow and how well the city workers manage to keep the roads clear. It snows a lot in Colorado, so they are really good about cleaning the roads or putting sand on them to make driving easier. ๐Ÿฅถ
