It’s Muh Birfday :P

Fourty. Three.

Yeah. I know… it can seem SUPER old to the behbeh’s out there, who are probably close to the same age as my SON (19). And to the Boomers and Beyond, I guess I’m some sort of Spring Chicken?!

But for me… I feel like I’m about 80 years old. I’ve experienced too much in my life and my mind/body are revolting against me…

I confessed to The Boyfriend a while back that I haven’t had a really memorable or special birthday in… forever? I did recall ONE birthday I’d had, in Arkansas, when my mom created an entire Scavenger Hunt for me and the people who showed up (it was quite a few, for once). But honestly? That’s the only one I remember being worth a damn. I was probably 12 or 13? 30 years is a long time to go with not feeling like anyone (besides my mom) really and truly cares. And don’t get me wrong, I do have people in my life that reach out and wish me a good one – I appreciate those immensely. But I’ve never had a surprise party or anything grand hosted by anyone… especially not myself (wouldn’t be a fan of that anyway).

Soooo… what does a woman turning 43 ask for, anyway?!

I asked to be allowed to sleep in and NOT do cat swap/feeding. There may have been some… stuff… in bed… SHHHH!

Then, a shower and The Boyfriend took me out to one of my favorite breakfast joints, where I got my favorite meal (stuffed French toast with strawberries and a side of sausage). After that, we did some gaming and took a nap. The Boyfriend went somewhere to do a “thing” that I’m not privy to (lol)… Soooooo here I am, writing a blog entry whilst I await his inevitable return!

There will be a celebratory dinner at my Aunt’s (which is also my mom’s) around 5p, but… I haven’t divulged a lot about the dynamics of all THAT, yet, so… suffice it to say, it just happened to be on “Family Dinner Night” (a thing I do NOT usually go to) and Mom previously asked if I’d like it to be my birthday dinner. I agreed (begrudgingly, tbh). I sent her my dinner request, she asked what sort of cake/ice cream I wanted, and that’s that. We’ll head over there in a couple hours.

All-in-all, it’s been a pleasant birthday, just spending time with The Boyfriend. My son actually messaged me on Snapchat (sus lol) and wished me a Happy Birthday… my eyes may have leaked a little at that.

And, to end this, I’ll leave you with a couple of Historical Facts that I’ve gained over my years… because I’m weird and my ADHD drives the insatiable curiosity bus – frequently. These are all “May 7th” things.

In 1896, H. H. Holmes was hanged to death for his crimes (I may have mentioned I read a book about him when I was a teenager)

In 1915, the Lusitania sunk

In 1945, Germany’s unconditional surrender to the Allies happened, effectively ending World War II

And that’s all I have, really. 😛 The Boyfriend is home and I’m making him wait for me to finish this, so… here’s a final GIF – mwahahaha
