I’ll start off with the “motto” I stole from my best friend, Granny Sídhe: I believe in the validity of all faiths and none. I’m not sure where she got it from, I know she’s told me… but alas, shit memory strikes again! 😅

That being said, I currently label myself as “Spiritually Agnostic Skeptic”?! The Agnostic part is “I can neither confirm nor deny that a ‘god’ exists.” I don’t personally believe that one does, but that’s where the spiritual aspect comes into play, in that my views on that are centered around my being an Empath and how drawn I am to certain spiritual things. I’m more of a “Universe” type, honestly. Collective consciousness? Sure. I REALLY love The Egg Theory.

But then there’s the the skeptical part… That one is more difficult for me. So says Google: “A skeptical person is someone who habitually doubts accepted beliefs or claims, especially those presented as factual, and tends to question or challenge them rather than readily accepting them. They often seek evidence and logical reasoning before forming their own opinions, and may be more cautious about new ideas or information.”

I absolutely am critical of religious organizations in general, especially ones that claim they are the One True Religion or any other such nonsense. For me, any “religion” that allows their followers to sow hatred for others and cause harm? Complete and utter shite. Now, that’s not to say that there aren’t a few good eggs inside these things, but… few and far between does not make that religion any better. In fact, those few ought to depart from the religion itself, in my honest opinion.

On the other hand, because of the spiritual aspects I believe in, being a skeptic is somewhat contradictory. I do question a lot, but when I have found that something spiritual works for ME, then I take it on as a personal belief. I can and will always question it, but it takes a lot to convince me that it isn’t true. So, I can be just as stubborn as any religious person.

The true core of all this, though, is that I believe we ought to Do No Harm. You are free to believe in whatever you wish, as long as it isn’t hurting other entities. It’s really that simple.
